Quiet Riot

was formed in 1973 by Randy Rhoads (guitar player), and Kelly Garni (bass player). The other members of the group consisted of Kevin Dubrow (vocals), and Drew Forsyth. The band had a heavy metal mascot which resembles a man in a metal mask and wearing a straightjacket. This mascot has appeared on nearly every album cover. The group released their debut album, Quiet Riot, in 1977. The album was released in Japan. A few months later, Kelly Garni left the group and was replaced by Rudy Sarzo. Quiet Riot II was released in Japan in 1978. The band failed to release am album in the United States so Rhoads joined Ozzy Osbourneís band. Dubrow and Forsyth tried to keep the band together and they changed the name to Dubrow. On March 19, 1982, Rhoades was killed in a plane crash.Dubrow reformed Quiet riot but none of the original members wanted in the group. The new members were Carlos Cavazo, Dubrow, Sarzo, and Franki Banali. Producer Spencer Proffer helped the band and they were signed with CBS Records in America, in 1983. It was here that they released their debut album, Metal health.

The band continued releasing albums and singles as well as touring the country but they had quite a turn around of members. As of January, 2006, Alex Grossi and Chuck Wright are no longer with the band and Tracii Guns had joined them but left just two weeks later. Some more of their recent members are Billy Morris, Neil Citron, Tony Franklin, Sean McNabb, and Wayne Carver. It was also stated that Alex and Chuck were also back in the group.

Quiet Riot released a new album in October, 2006 and it is called, Rehab. On July 13, 2007, the group performed at the Glam Metal Festival called Rocklahoma. Quiet riot was featured in radio promos in 2007 for ESPN Radio. Quiet Riotís track, Metal health is the title theme on the video game, Showdown: Legends of Wrestling. The song also is in the soundtrack of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories. Their version of Cum On Feel the Noize, is in grand Theft Auto: Vice City. It is also in the soundtrack for Crank and in a scene for the film, Footloose. Bang Your head from the album Metal health, is in the game Guitar Hero.
