Malcolm managed to persuade the other three band members to leave and form their own group called, Bow Wow Wow. In early 1980, Adam recruited his old friend, Marco Pirroni and they reformed the lineup sound and image of the band. The band now had 2 drummers. They marketed the new album, Kings of the Wild Frontier. From this they had several singles that reached the charts. As their success grew, their followup album, Prince Charming was very successful and it produced 3 Top 10 singles in the U. K. And two of them reached number 1 position on the chart. The Ants split up in 1982. There never was any one answer as to why the group split up. Adam went solo after that and Pirroni went with him as his songwriter.
