80s Artist Music

The 80s music artist list was a long one. There were many music artists in the 80's and there were also many new styles of music and dancing. Some of the many artists of the 80's were, The Police, Survivor, Foreigner, Van Halen, U2, Guns N’ Roses, Whitney Houston, Bonnie Tyler, Lionel Richie, J. There were many songs which hit the charts in the 1980's and the many new styles of music consisted of disco, post punk , heavy metal, hard rock, hair metal, gangsta rap, New wave of British heavy metal, college rock, synth pop, hip hop, heartland rock, New wave, thrash metal, and more. Some of the many new dances which went along with the new styles of music were, disco, robo cop, cabbage patch, break dancing, running man, roger rabbit, moonwalk, funky twist, new kids move, pac man, poppin’, wavin’, lockin’, tickin’, and more. People learned the new dance styles sometimes by watching videos of Christie Lane and others.

This standing was determined by the sales of their albums and singles, as well as music videos, etc.. There were hundreds of artists who were successful in the 1980's and there were many who were not successful.

MTV and VH-1, as well as many small television shown were a big help to many of the 80's artists. Many of them were not known at all until their music videos were aired on television. Also many artists received a lot of airplay on radio stations. Many artists could not have made it without the help of the radio stations playing their music and the shows like MTV, playing their music videos.
